James Smith is an associate attorney at Burdge & Wells Law Office in Dayton, Ohio. He focuses his practice on consumer protection cases, including lemon law and breach of warranty claims for automobiles, motorcycles, and RVs, as well as auto sales fraud and related financing disputes.

Before joining the firm, James practiced at Markovits Stock & DeMarco in Cincinnati, where he worked on class action lawsuits involving data privacy and consumer fraud. He also brings nearly a decade of experience as a Tax Attorney at Procter & Gamble, where he advised on corporate planning, acquisitions, and divestitures. Earlier in his career, he served in financial analysis and management roles at The Capital Group Companies, First Group America, and Convergys, developing strong analytical and negotiation skills that now enhance his legal advocacy.

James earned his law degree from Harvard Law School, a Master of Accounting from The Ohio State University, and a Bachelor’s in Finance from Howard University, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. His multidisciplinary background enables him to approach each case with precision, strategy, and a deep understanding of both the legal and financial dimensions of consumer law.
